nextstep Northumberland is
an initiative funded by the
Learning and Skills Council
and the European Social Fund
for the purpose: 'to
widen participation in learning
and work by developing and supporting
the provision of quality information,
advice and guidance'.
nextstep Northumberland
helps people get involved in
learning. It builds relationships
and supports nearly 200 regional
organisations that give Information,
Advice and Guidance (IAG) to
people into Learning and Work.
Key
Objectives:
- Establish, where necessary,
and to further develop the
provision of co-ordinated
network of IAG provision towards
work and learning
- Ensure all communities,
rural and urban, have access
to Information and Advice
free of charge and that those
in disadvantaged groups can
access the help they need
- Ensure all network members
achieve the relevant IAG quality
standards
- Create coherence in support
services towards learning
and work
We will
achieve this by:
- Developing and/or supporting
networks of providers offering
Information, Advice and/or
Guidance for learning and
work
- Marketing
network members' services
- Supporting
members access to learning
- in particular those in priority
groups
- Facilitating
referral systems amongst members
- Kitemarking quality services
- Facilitating coherence of
service provision
